In <a href=\"https:\/\/tmobile.prf.hn\/click\/camref:1011l44qEJ\/%5Bp_id:1011l394533%5D\/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.t-mobile.com%2Fnews%2Fnetwork%2Ft-mobile-launches-fiber-home-internet-with-new-plans\" rel=\"sponsored nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an update on Tuesday<\/a>, T-Mobile revealed three new plans that offer customers symmetrical speeds of up to 2 Gigs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">In addition to a five-year price lock, the new plans come with a $5 autopay discount, but only if you pay with a debit card or bank account. Here\u2019s a list of the plans, which will be available starting June 5th:<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">T-Mobile\u2019s big fiber expansion comes just months after it closed its joint venture deal with the fiber internet provider Lumos \u2014 a move the Federal Communications Commission only approved after the carrier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/641068\/t-mobile-closes-lumos-deal-after-dropping-dei\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">made changes to its stance<\/a> on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">T-Mobile\u2019s fiber internet service was previously only available in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2021\/8\/10\/22619132\/t-mobile-fiber-optic-home-internet-pilot-program\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a limited number<\/a> of locations. But now it\u2019s building out its network through its deal with Lumos and its pending acquisition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/7\/24\/24205153\/t-mobile-is-set-to-acquire-the-fiber-internet-provider-metronet\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fiber provider Metronet<\/a>. T-Mobile says it expects to reach 12 to 15 million households or more by the end of 2030, allowing it to compete with rivals <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/672130\/att-acquires-lumens-fiber-business\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">like AT&amp;T<\/a> and Verizon that have invested billions into fiber. Last month, the FCC approved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/668614\/verizon-frontier-acquisition-fcc-approval\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Verizon\u2019s $20 billion<\/a> acquisition of Frontier after it \u201ccommitted to ending DEI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">T-Mobile will also provide discounts for customers who have phone lines with the service. It\u2019s offering a $75 \/ month ($70 with autopay) Fiber Founders Club plan as well, which comes with a 10-year price lock but is only \u201cavailable in select locations for a limited time.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"T-Mobile is bringing its fiber internet service to more than 500,000 households throughout the US.
