The serial number on the packaging checks out. This is the real CMF Watch 3 Pro.

Serial number check confirms everything

We ran the serial code from the leaked box images through the official verification tool. The result leaves no doubt. The packaging belongs to the CMF Watch 3 Pro, and everything else falls into place from there. It confirms not only the name, but also that the photos and specs posted on Xianyu were the real deal.

That clears up one lingering question. The naming is now officially “Watch 3 Pro,” breaking the pattern set by last year’s “Watch Pro 2.” But it lines up with what we saw in the IMDA filing from a few weeks ago, so CMF was clearly planning to change up its numbering strategy anyway.

It also adds weight to the hardware details that appeared in the same leak. Things like the 1.43 inch AMOLED screen, dual-band GPS, improved battery life and the addition of a running coach feature. If there was any doubt before, there isn’t now.

Essential reading: Top fitness trackers and health gadgets

This confirmation also makes the €99 price tag from earlier leaks more believable. That figure came from a separate source, but now that the rest of the puzzle has locked into place, We’d be surprised if it lands much higher or lower.

From a design perspective, we’re still looking at a circular case with a single side button and what looks like a similar strap attachment as before. The midframe is listed as aluminium alloy, and the colour is the same dark grey as the earlier leak. That all feels in line with CMF’s usual design language.

CMF has yet to post anything on its website or social channels, but that probably won’t last long. Once packaging starts leaking with valid serials, the cat’s out of the bag. The timing lines up almost exactly with the debut of the Watch Pro 2 in July last year.

This article originally appeared on Gadgets & Wearables, the first media outlet to report the story.

Subscribe to our monthly newsletter!
