PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 Two teenagers are in police custody after officers said they stole a car at gunpoint in the city\u2019s Oxford Circle section and crashed a short time later in Frankford.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
It was shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, according to authorities, when the two teens \u2014 one armed with a handgun and the other a knife \u2014 pointed their weapons at two women in their 30s on the 2100 block of Longshore Avenue, near Bustleton Avenue in Oxford Circle.<\/p>\n
Police said the teens, ages 16 and 18, demanded the keys to the victims\u2019 2012 Jeep Cherokee, then fled in the vehicle. <\/p>\n
Officers saw the Cherokee moments later and it sped off, eventually colliding with a pickup truck at Adams and Torresdale avenues in Frankford. Police said the suspects tried to flee on foot but were caught nearby. One was reportedly snared in barbed wire in a backyard fence.<\/p>\n
