{"id":791863,"date":"2026-05-12T20:51:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T20:51:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/791863\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T20:51:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T20:51:13","slug":"8th-wonder-brewery-fends-off-eviction-ahead-of-world-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/791863\/","title":{"rendered":"8th Wonder Brewery fends off eviction ahead of World Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The business was in a fight with its landlord over the EaDo location.<\/p>\n<p>HOUSTON \u2014 A Houston-area brewery has secured a temporary win in court to stay at its longtime home on Polk Street.<\/p>\n<p>A Harris County District judge on May 11 issued a temporary restraining order allowing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/houston\/news\/2026\/04\/14\/pagewood-east-blocks-mixed-use-eado-breaks-ground.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">8th Wonder Brewery<\/a> to keep its lease at 2200 Polk St., where it has been operating for 11 years.<\/p>\n<p>The court\u2019s order blocks the landlord, <a href=\"http:\/\/bizjournals.com\/houston\/news\/2016\/12\/20\/houstons-first-brick-and-mortar-poke-eatery-to.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Macey Family Properties Ltd.<\/a>, from seeking to evict or interfering with 8th Wonder\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n<p>8th Wonder had alleged in a May 11 petition that Macey was seeking to terminate its lease in order to profit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
