To safeguard against unauthoritized residential parking, special temporary permits will be required \u2014 and available for free \u2014 in neighborhoods near the FIFA World Cup 26 Fan Festival at Lemon Hill in East Fairmount Park starting next month.<\/p>\n
The permits will coincide with the festival, which will run from June 11 through July 19, officials said.<\/p>\n
The festival has been touted as a monthlong \u201csoccer Coachella,\u201d with 15,000 fans attending daily<\/a> during the 2026 World Cup.<\/p>\n People planning to attend the festival are being directed to use public transit or ridesharing.<\/p>\n The permit zone will extend from East Fairmount Park along Cecil B. Moore Avenue on the northern end, to 21st Street and Corinthian Avenue on the east, and down to Pennsylvania Avenue.<\/p>\n The Philadelphia Parking Authority has an interactive map of the permit zone on its website<\/a> and instructions on how to get a permit.<\/p>\n The PPA said residents with regular parking permits are required to get the temporary permit to avoid being ticketed and towed.<\/p>\n Households will be allowed one special permit linked to each approved license plate, and can get one or two visitor permits that are good throughout the 39-day festival, the parking authority said.<\/p>\n Businesses can apply for up to 10 visitor day passes, the parking authority said.<\/p>\n The city is hosting an online neighborhood information session<\/a> next Monday, May 18, from 5-6 p.m.<\/p>\n
