An ice cream shop specializing in rolled ice cream is coming to Las Colinas: Called Maya Creamery,<\/a> it\u2019s part of a small but international chain, and is set to open in late July at 3341 Regent Blvd. #140, in the Stampede Crossing shopping center near I-635 and Belt Line Road.<\/p>\n

Maya Creamery is owned by Sukhi Singh Anand and his family, who previously owned seven locations in Phoenix, Arizona; his grandfather opened the first location in Mumbai in 1979.<\/p>\n

Anand opened the first Texas shop in McKinney in 2024, and they opened shops in Frisco<\/a> in April, and Little Elm<\/a> in May.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe chose to continue my grandfather\u2019s legacy and expand in the U.S.,\u201d Anand says.<\/p>\n

They specialize in rolled ice cream, which is made by pouring the ice cream mixture onto a freezing metal plate, mixing in toppings, then rolling it with a slicer, and arranging the rolls in cups. The trend first surfaced in the U.S. about a decade ago; according to Anand, they were pioneers in the rolled ice cream community in the U.S.<\/p>\n

“We were the first one to introduce rolls and Maya special plates, which became very popular among the Indian community,” Anand says.<\/p>\n

Maya Creamery also offers Indian desserts such as falooda, mango lychee rolls, and rabdi, which are similar to a milkshake. There\u2019s a rabdi gulab jamun plate with sweet fried dumplings on top of rabdi; and rabdi kulfi, which is like an ice pop. <\/p>\n

Other desserts include macarons, crepes, boba tea, and cassata, which is slices of ice cream on top of sponge cake. Most items on the menu are under $10.<\/p>\n

Irving is their fourth location in Texas, and Anand says they’re in the process of opening six more across within the next year.<\/p>\n

“We chose this location due to its visibility from the highway and due to a high demand from people in Irving who were requesting Maya to bring a location more accessible to them,” Anand says.<\/p>\n
