A new reality TV series from the Bravo network is poised to bring glitter, backstabbing and catfights to the Texas Hill Country town of Boerne. <\/p>\n
And residents of the San Antonio bedroom community are less than thrilled.<\/p>\n
Bravo announced the launch<\/a> of the new series Secrets, Lies, Texas Wives on Monday, revealing it will take place in Boerne and follow the lives of a \u201ctight-knit circle of glamorous women.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis series follows their lives as they raise families, run ranches and farms and manage sparkling social calendars in a town rooted in rodeos and tradition,\u201d Bravo officials said in a Monday press release. \u201cBehind the polished smiles and Sunday sermons, however, there are intimate relationships and forbidden romances that test loyalties and marriages, jeopardizing the town\u2019s pristine image and proving that perfection is far more complicated than anyone could imagine.\u201d<\/p>\n Bravo didn\u2019t disclose when the show will appear on TV screens, nor did it reveal the names of its cast members. <\/p>\n However, names circulating in the online buzz mill include Big Brother Season 15 star Aaryn Williams, South African-turned-New Braunfels transplant Annari and Boerne-based social media \u201cstar\u201d Ashlee Nichols.<\/p>\n Other possible cast members, according to social media speculators, include Emily Miller-Reaser, daughter of Bill Miller Bar-B-Q honcho Balous Miller, and Tamara Strait, the daughter of country music great George Strait.<\/p>\n Perhaps unsurprisingly, Boerne residents aren\u2019t exactly thrilled that a show about scandalous local wives is set in their community. <\/p>\n \u201cNone of us moved to Boerne for Hollywood to descend upon us,\u201d Dondi Voigt Persyn wrote in a . \u201cThey have Austin \u2014 can\u2019t we just keep it that way?\u201d<\/p>\n Group member Robert Garza cautioned that the reality TV show is \u201cnot gonna be a good look for Boerne,\u201d while others in the forum said they just wish the production would \u201cgo away.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBoerne isn\u2019t about that,\u201d MJ Payne wrote. \u201cWe don\u2019t want Hollywood trash here.\u201d<\/p>\n Word of the Boerne-set series comes scant months after another local reality TV show, Socialites of San Antonio<\/a>, was scrapped after its primary investor reportedly pulled out funding. <\/p>\n It\u2019s also not the first time Bravo has taken an interest in the San Antonio area.<\/p>\n In 2019, the network debuted Texicans, a reality TV show<\/a>, that followed the adventures of a group of Mexican American socialites in the Alamo City.
