One person died, and three others were injured following a multi-vehicle crash in South Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
The deadly incident happened just before 2 p.m., according to the LA County Fire Department in the area of Vermont and Colden avenues. <\/p>\n
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Suburban speeding southbound on Vermont clipped a car and likely went airborne, flipping and smashing into several other cars before landing on its roof in the center median.<\/p>\n
Among the three injured, two were taken to a hospital in critical condition. The identity of the deceased person was not immediately available.<\/p>\n
One woman who was in the area said she was stopped at a red light when she heard the deafening crash.<\/p>\n
“I looked in my rear-view mirror, I seen a truck, a van, flipping in the air at least three or four times,” said the woman, who asked not to be identified. “That already hit a couple of cars but as it was coming down, I had to get out from underneath the truck. Nothing but God.”<\/p>\n
