A new season of concerts, comedy and live performances is coming to The Ford, with the LA Phil assembling a lineup of musicians, filmmakers and performance artists.<\/p>\n
The season at the Hollywood Hills open-air amphitheater will run from May through October and include concerts, film screenings, spoken word events, comedy and family programming, according to the LA Phil.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Ford is unlike any other stage,\u201d Kim Noltemy, president and CEO of the LA Phil, said in a statement. \u201cIt is intimate, immersive and deeply connected to the creative communities that define Los Angeles.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scheduled performances include Rostam\u2019s \u201cAmerican Stories Tour\u201d on May 30.<\/p>\n
Matteo Bocelli, son of tenor Andrea Bocelli, will perform June 21 as part of his \u201cFalling in Love World Tour.\u201d<\/p>\n
Film programming begins July 8 with a 45th anniversary screening of Luis Valdez\u2019s \u201cZoot Suit,\u201d featuring appearances by Valdez and actor Edward James Olmos.<\/p>\n
Family programming will continue July 12 with \u201cJourney Through Cahuenga: Indigenous Storytelling and Dance.\u201d<\/p>\n
The FordLab series will include comedian Aida Rodriguez and DJ D-NICE on July 17, and John Beasley\u2019s \u201cUNLIMITED MILES: MILES DAVIS AT 100,\u201d presented with the Leimert Park Jazz Festival, on July 19.<\/p>\n
Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi, known for his scores for Studio Ghibli films including \u201cSpirited Away\u201d and \u201cMy Neighbor Totoro,\u201d will present his \u201cMusic Future\u201d series July 25.<\/p>\n
