{"id":79404,"date":"2025-07-21T01:20:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-21T01:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/79404\/"},"modified":"2025-07-21T01:20:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T01:20:10","slug":"alexander-zverev-names-the-former-wta-legend-who-he-would-have-loved-to-play-mixed-doubles-with","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/79404\/","title":{"rendered":"Alexander Zverev names the former WTA legend who he would have loved to play mixed doubles with"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Alexander Zverev has faced some greats of the game since making his debut on the ATP Tour back in 2013. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zverev<\/a> has played and won against each of the \u2018big three\u2019, tallying a total of 13 wins against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/roger-federer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roger Federer<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/rafael-nadal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rafael Nadal<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/novak-djokovic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Novak Djokovic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The German has also clashed with Grand Slam champions such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/andy-murray\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andy Murray<\/a> and Stan Wawrinka, and Juan Martin Del Potro.<\/p>\n<p>There is one legend, however, Zverev never had the chance to face whom he would have \u2018loved\u2019 the chance to share the court with.  <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-850570284-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Roger Federer and Alexander Zverev at the Laver Cup in 2017.\" class=\"wp-image-63797\" \/>Photo by Julian Finney\/Getty Images for Laver CupAlexander Zverev names the legend he would have loved to play with or against<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with digital creator Gareth Richman, Zverev was asked: \u201cIf you could play against, or with, any player, past or present, who would it be?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He responded: \u201cI played against and with Roger Federer. I played doubles with him and singles against him. That was the dream when I was growing up, for sure. It was surreal when I played doubles with him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would love to play with Steffi Graf. It would have been so much fun. She\u2019s an absolute hero, an absolute legend. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would have loved that experience to play against her or with her.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DMNU3tYN6r9\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\"background:#FFF;border:0;border-radius:3px;margin: 1px;max-width:540px;min-width:326px;padding:0;width:99.375%;width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px);width:calc(100% - 2px)\"\/><p>Alexander Zverev says he \u2018strongly believes\u2019 he will still win a major<\/p>\n<p>Zverev was then asked if he would rather have a long, successful career or a Grand Slam title to his name. <\/p>\n<p>The world number three replied: \u201cI feel like I have a long, successful career, right?<\/p>\n<p>Zverev\u2019s three major finals losses:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inline-links multi\">\n<li>2020 US Open final: Lost to Dominic Thiem <\/li>\n<li>2024 Roland Garros final: Lost to Carlos Alcaraz<\/li>\n<li>2025 Australian Open final: Lost to Jannik Sinner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe Slam is still missing, but I do believe that I am going to have both.
