Anal\u00eda Fiestas from our sister station Telemundo 39 will serve as the evening\u2019s emcee.<\/p>\n<p>Peruvian Independence Day celebrates Peru\u2019s independence from Spain on July 28 of 1821. Each year, Academia As\u00ed es mi Peru hosts a spectacular event that honors Peruvian culture. This year\u2019s event will feature traditional Peruvian dance performances to the beat of lively music and proud cultural presentations. The festival is also an opportunity for community engagement as it presents their Impacto a la Comunidad Award (Community Impact Award in English). In a short amount of time, they performed in events across the region and have helped raise money for charitable causes. The Academia As\u00ed es mi Per\u00fa\u2019s mission is to promote Peruvian folklore dance through research and creativity to bring a celebration of culture to the area, as well as on a national and international level.
