There was yet another house fire in Delaware County in recent weeks, and more people displaced.<\/p>\n
This time there was a house ablaze in the 500 block of Wiltshire Road in Upper Darby Township.<\/p>\n
According to a news release from township Deputy Chief John Calamia, stations were alerted approximately 8 p.m. for a building fire in the block.<\/p>\n
Companies arrived to find fire showing from the first and second floors of a two-story end-of-row dwelling.<\/p>\n
The fire escalated to two alarms before being brought under control within 40 minutes. The blaze was contained to the original fire building with minor damage to the adjoining property.<\/p>\n
No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Mutual aid was received from Llanerch, Manoa, Darby, Clifton Heights and Lansdowne fire companies. Upper Darby Paramedic Rescue stood by at the scene as well.<\/p>\n
Six adults and two children were displaced and the cause is still under investigation, Calamia said.<\/p>\n
Radio traffic indicated wires were arcing and sparking and a PECO priority response was sought.<\/p>\n
Board-up services were sought for 18 windows, three doors and a section of roofing.<\/p>\n
Other fires in the past month included Sharon Hill<\/a>, Collingdale<\/a>, Trainer<\/a>, Crum Lynne<\/a>, Chester Township<\/a>, Eddystone<\/a>, Upper Darby<\/a> and Collingdale again<\/a>.
