The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday asked for the public’s help in identifying the person they say is responsible for a recent robbery in Lynwood.<\/p>\n
The search comes after a woman was robbed in her front yard on Agnes Avenue around 5:15 p.m. on April 27, according to the department.<\/p>\n
The woman, who only wanted be identified as Vicki, told NBC Los Angeles she was gardening when the robber approached her.<\/p>\n
“He pushed me, almost pushed me to the ground, snatched my necklace and took off running,” she said. “The necklace has been in my family for over 15 years. It was personally made.”<\/p>\n
Officials say the suspect went north on Muriel Drive before getting into a white SUV, described as a possible Buick Encore.<\/p>\n
A neighbor a few houses away shared Ring camera video, time-stamped shortly after the attack, with NBCLA. It shows a person walking up to another home before turning around and walking back toward Vicki’s house.<\/p>\n
Investigators described the suspect as a 160-pound, 5-foot-10 boy or young man around 16 to 18 years old.<\/p>\n
The lead detective told NBCLA over the phone Wednesday night that the Century Station is investigating similar robberies in the area but that the attacker typically wears a mask.<\/p>\n
Detectives urged the public to be aware of their surroundings if wearing noticeable jewelry.<\/p>\n
