{"id":795812,"date":"2026-05-14T12:39:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T12:39:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/795812\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T12:39:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T12:39:14","slug":"phoenix-group-makes-ai-data-center-pivot-into-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/795812\/","title":{"rendered":"Phoenix Group makes AI data center pivot into Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new 18MW data center in Lyon, France is being developed by Phoenix Group, an Abu Dhabi-based Bitcoin miner that told Semafor last year it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.semafor.com\/article\/06\/20\/2025\/abu-dhabi-bitcoin-miner-considers-us-listing-in-pivot-to-ai\" class=\"_linkEmbed_10lxo_29\" rel=\"no-referrer nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pivoting to small-scale AI infrastructure<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The push into Europe comes as demand for AI computing capacity outpaces supply. The unit of International Holding Company \u2014 which is led by UAE National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed \u2014 is <a href=\"https:\/\/phoenixgroupuae.com\/news\/abu-dhabis-phoenix-group-partners-with-dc-max-to-unlock-8-billion-european-ai-data-center-opportunity-with-lyon-france-as-first-deployment\" class=\"_linkEmbed_10lxo_29\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">partnering with French firm DC Max<\/a> on the project. The group has acquired land, permits, and power, and expects to start construction in July.<\/p>\n<p>The deal is part of a broader aim to develop more than 1 gigawatt of capacity in Europe and the Gulf, at a cost of some $8 billion, according to Phoenix.
