{"id":795967,"date":"2026-05-14T14:10:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T14:10:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/795967\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T14:10:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T14:10:15","slug":"israel-to-take-legal-action-against-nyt-over-dog-rape-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/795967\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel to take legal action against NYT over &#8216;dog rape&#8217; allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Israel will take legal action against The New York Times over a column penned by Nicholas Kristof, which included allegations of serious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/diaspora\/antisemitism\/article-896135\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sexual abuse<\/a> of Palestinians in Israeli prisons, the Prime Minister&#8217;s Office said in a Thursday statement.<\/p>\n<p>The PMO, which referred to the accusation as &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-895908\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">one of the most hideous and distorted lies<\/a> ever published against the State of Israel,&#8221; said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa\u2019ar instructed officials to begin preparing a defamation lawsuit against the publication.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">&#8220;They defamed the soldiers of Israel and perpetuated a blood libel about rape, trying to create a false symmetry between the genocidal terrorists of Hamas and Israel\u2019s valiant soldiers,&#8221; Netanyahu wrote on X\/Twitter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">&#8220;Under my leadership, Israel will not be silent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Netanyahu has previously accused international outlets of amplifying false claims about Israel\u2019s conduct in Gaza, telling foreign media in August that \u201cHamas lies\u201d were being repeated abroad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The planned lawsuit would focus on whether statements in the article crossed the legal threshold from opinion or criticism into actionable defamation.
