Nick Lachey<\/strong><\/a> is sharing what it was really like spending six and a half hours on a flight to Hawaii with ex-wife<\/a> Jessica Simpson<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former couple \u2014 who were previously married from 2002 to 2006 \u2014 unexpectedly found themselves in first class on the same flight to Hawaii on Sunday, March 29, marking the first time they had seen each other in roughly 20 years!<\/p>\n

Former boy band musician<\/a> Nick, 52, addressed the surprising reunion during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen<\/strong><\/a> on Wednesday, May 13.<\/p>\n

His verdict? The encounter went \u201cstrangely ok,\u201d he said in a clip<\/a> posted to YouTube.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know it\u2019s been 20 years since\u2026and so we haven\u2019t seen each other in those 20 years and then spent six and a half hours on a flight to Hawaii together,\u201d Nick revealed, before clarifying that they were in the \u201csame vicinity\u201d on the plane.<\/p>\n

Nick was traveling with his wife of 14 years, Vanessa Lachey<\/strong><\/a>, as well as their three children: sons Camden<\/strong>, 13, and Phoenix<\/strong>, 9, and daughter Brooklyn<\/strong>, 11.<\/p>\n

Despite the potentially awkward circumstances, Nick said everyone got along.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone was very very cordial, very respectful,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Nick added that Jessica, 45, was traveling with her mother, Tina Simpson<\/strong><\/a>. Her estranged husband<\/a>, Eric Johnson<\/strong><\/a>, and their three children \u2014 daughters Maxwell<\/strong>, 13, and Birdie<\/strong>, 7, and son Ace<\/strong>, 12 \u2014 were seated elsewhere on the plane.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was honestly fine,\u201d Nick concluded.<\/p>\n

In Touch previously reported the chance encounter, which was first reported by TMZ<\/a>. At the time, sources told TMZ that Jessica switched seats to avoid interacting with her ex. Nick\u2019s account, however, paints a far less dramatic picture.<\/p>\n

The Lacheys previously lived in Kahala, Oahu, for three years while Vanessa filmed NCIS: Hawaii. They have since returned to California.<\/p>\n
