LA JOLLA, Calif. \u2014 <\/strong>The UC San Diego women’s rowing team is set to compete in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Women’s Rowing Championship this week.<\/p>\n The conference event will take place on Saturday, May 17, on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.<\/p>\n The Tritons will field Varsity 8, Varsity 4, Second Varsity 8, and Third Varsity 8 boats.<\/p>\n Also competing are Drexel, Monmouth, Northeastern, UAlbany, UConn, and Villanova.<\/p>\n At the 2025 CAA Championship, UC San Diego placed fifth overall in front of UConn, Eastern Michigan, and Monmouth. The Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 each placed fifth and the Second Varsity 8 was fourth.<\/p>\n Northeastern won its 11th-consecutive CAA title in 2025.<\/p>\n Following last year’s championship, three Tritons from the Varsity 8 boat were named to the All-CAA Team including Laine Bradley<\/a>, Rachel Cuneo<\/a>, and Natasha Vallencey.<\/p>\n Racing gets underway at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with the Third Varsity 8 Grand Final. Following will be the Varsity 4 Grand Final (9:40 a.m.), the Second Varsity 8 Grand Final (9:50 a.m.), and the Varsity 8 Grand Final (10 a.m.).<\/p>\n All races in New Jersey can be watched live on FloCollege<\/a>.

\nAfter two decades as one of the most successful programs in NCAA Division II, the UC\u00a0San Diego intercollegiate athletics program has begun a new era as a member of The\u00a0Big West in\u00a0NCAA Division I. The 24-sport Tritons earned 30 team and nearly 150\u00a0individual national championships during its time in Divisions II and III and helped\u00a0guide 1,400 scholar-athletes to All-America honors. A total of 83 Tritons have earned\u00a0Academic All-America honors, while 39 have garnered prestigious NCAA Post Graduate\u00a0Scholarships. UC San Diego scholar-athletes exemplify the academic ideals of one of\u00a0the world’s preeminent institutions, graduating at an average rate of 90 percent, the\u00a0highest rate among\u00a0public institutions in NCAA Division I or II.
