{"id":796580,"date":"2026-05-14T20:18:18","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T20:18:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/796580\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T20:18:18","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T20:18:18","slug":"controversial-truck-stop-vote-delayed-in-phoenix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/796580\/","title":{"rendered":"Controversial truck stop vote delayed in Phoenix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, Ore. \u2013 The Phoenix Planning Commission is delaying a vote on a controversial truck stop on the east side of town.<\/p>\n<p>NBC5 News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kobi5.com\/news\/top-stories\/new-proposed-phoenix-truck-stop-being-met-with-opposition-306138\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first<\/a> told you about the proposed project last month.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of neighbors at the intersection of Fern Valley and Grove Roads have organized an effort against it. Many of them testified Monday night at the planning commission\u2019s public\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=87oEJ-lAJtk\">hearing.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>They say there\u2019s already a Petro truck stop in the same commercial zone, and another one brings no added benefits, only more noise and pollution.<\/p>\n<p>With the meeting running long after public testimony, the commission decided to hold off on a vote till its next meeting on June 8.<\/p>\n<p>The project would include a 7-Eleven convenience store as well as separate gas stations for both passenger vehicles and semi-trucks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 0.9rem;font-style: italic;\">\u00a9 2026 KOBI-TV NBC5.
