Police have arrested two teenagers who allegedly tried to set fire to a bar in Melbourne’s CBD that has already been targeted by arsonists on multiple occasions.<\/p>\n

Officers patrolling the area as part of Operation Eclipse spotted a white Kia wagon arrive outside Bar Bambi in ACDC Lane about 4:45am today.<\/p>\n

Police said two males ran from the car carrying a jerry can, smashed a window at the bar and tried to pour fuel into the venue.<\/p>\n

Officers moved in and arrested two 16-year-old boys but the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and could not be found.<\/p>\n

It is believed to be the third time the bar has been targeted and the second time police have arrested people at the venue.<\/a><\/p>\n

‘Terrifying’ fires at suburban business<\/p>\n

Police are also investigating an arson attack on a number of trucks at a business in Melbourne’s inner-west overnight.<\/p>\n

Victoria Police said two unknown offenders tried to set fire to a number of vehicles at the business in Tottenham about 1am.<\/p>\n

One truck sustained moderate damage and nobody was injured in the incident.<\/p>\n

The arsonists were interrupted by workers at the business, who then extinguished fires on several trucks.<\/p>\n

One worker who did not want to be identified said the incident was “terrifying”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Luckily we saw the fire and we immediately reacted on that one, and then we used a fire extinguisher to control the fire,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I think their intention was to burn all of the trucks, we have 15-20 trucks.<\/p>\n

“Luckily we were here to react as quickly as we can, and then luckily they got, I mean strange to say luckily, but they were able to burn just five trucks.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Police were unable to say if the incident was linked to a suspicious truck fire at Sunshine North earlier in the evening.<\/p>\n

Two male offenders smashed the window of a truck in Cutts Street, Sunshine North, and set the vehicle alight.<\/p>\n

They also attempted to set fire to another vehicle next to it but were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n

Police said the offenders fled the scene in a white vehicle.<\/p>\n
