Jackson&#8217;s &#8216;The Boys&#8217; Cameo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>SPOILERS: This post contains details about <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-boys\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-boys\" data-tag=\"the-boys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Boys<\/a>, Season 5 episode \u2018The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother\u2019s Milk\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWith two episodes of The Boys left, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/eric-kripke\/\" id=\"auto-tag_eric-kripke\" data-tag=\"eric-kripke\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Eric Kripke<\/a> managed to squeeze a celebrity cameo into the penultimate that had some fans doing a double take.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe creator of the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/prime-video\/\" id=\"auto-tag_prime-video\" data-tag=\"prime-video\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Prime Video<\/a> series, which premieres its finale May 19 in 4DX theaters before it\u2019s available on streaming the next day, recently revealed how <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/samuel-l-jackson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_samuel-l-jackson\" data-tag=\"samuel-l-jackson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Samuel L. Jackson<\/a> came to voice The Deep\u2019s (<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/chace-crawford\/\" id=\"auto-tag_chace-crawford\" data-tag=\"chace-crawford\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chace Crawford<\/a>) hammerhead shark friend Xander in this week\u2019s episode \u2018The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother\u2019s Milk\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cA lot of the cameos we bring into the show are because Seth Rogen or [executive producer] Evan Goldberg have a relationship with them and can make a call,\u201d he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/how-the-boys-pulled-off-episode-7s-surprise-cameo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Polygon<\/a>. \u201cI lean on them a lot for that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFollowing Xander\u2019s appearance in this season\u2019s premiere episode \u2018Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite\u2019, during which he gave The Deep a ride to hunt down A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), Xander returns in the penultimate to threaten his former friend, who is responsible for a pipeline that wiped out much of the ocean\u2019s population.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tKripke said, \u201cWe wanted a really distinct voice and who has a more distinct voice in Hollywood than Sam Jackson? So we just went to his agent. He was our first choice, and we were like, \u2018Does he want to do this?\u2019 It was really just taking a flyer. But then it came back, Oh yeah, he likes the show and totally, he\u2019ll do it.
