Bill Ackman’s hedge fund Pershing Square will disclose a new \u2060position in Microsoft<\/a> later in the day, the \u200bbillionaire investor \u200bsaid on \u200bFriday, arguing that the tech giant sits at a “highly compelling valuation”.<\/p>\n Ackman’s new \u2060closed-end \u200cfund Pershing Square USA<\/a>, which \u2060debuted on the NYSE last month, has also recently made Microsoft a core holding, \u200che said in a post on social media platform X.<\/p>\n Pershing’s \u200bbet on Microsoft comes amid Ackman’s growing appetite for tech holdings. In February, he \u2060said Pershing had bought shares in Meta Platforms<\/a>, \u200cbetting the Facebook parent \u200cwill benefit from artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n Last year, he made a new investment in \u2060Amazon<\/a> and the firm previously invested in \u2060Alphabet<\/a> in late \u20602022.<\/p>\n Microsoft shares have fallen more than 15% so far this \u200byear, as investors worry \u200cthat the company’s early-mover advantage in the AI race is losing ground as Google and Amazon make strong progress \u200bin their own AI \u200cefforts.<\/p>\n
