CHICAGO (WLS) — A man was shot to death on the city’s West Side early Friday morning, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n

Police said the shooting happened in the North Austin neighborhood’s 5800-block of West Potomac Avenue just after 1:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

A 35-year-old man was outside when someone shot him in the body multiple times, police said.<\/p>\n

The victim was transported in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.<\/p>\n

Area Five detectives are investigating. Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.<\/p>\n
