On Friday, May 8, 2026 the sun was shining across the San Diego Bay as our community of generous supporters gathered for the 2026 Visionary Luncheon & Auction<\/strong>. Hosted at Coasterra with a stunning view of the Coronado bridge, guests enjoyed delicious hors d\u2019oeuvres and an open bar while bidding on fun silent auction packages like curated wine tastings, Padres tickets, luxurious skin products, and live musical performances. If you snagged one of the items up for auction, congrats!<\/p>\n In honor of Alzheimer\u2019s San Diego\u2019s 10th Anniversary<\/strong>, the organization recognized a very special member of our community \u2013 the amazing Ann Owens. Ten years ago, Ann played an instrumental role in the formation of Alzheimer\u2019s San Diego as a local nonprofit. Over the past decade Ann has raised over $400,000<\/strong> with her Walk4ALZ<\/a> team, \u201cAnn\u2019s Army,\u201d<\/a> served as an officer on the Alzheimer\u2019s San Diego Board<\/a>, and currently serves on the Alzheimer\u2019s San Diego Community Advisory Council.<\/p>\n Ann has seen Alzheimer\u2019s San Diego\u2019s services grow to include the first ever gun lock program for people with dementia in the US, the formation of the Law Enforcement Referral Program (LERP), expanded Spanish-language services<\/a>, and a specialized program to meet the unique needs of people living alone<\/a> with memory loss in San Diego County. \u201cAlzheimer\u2019s disease impacts so many people, the people with the disease, their families, and their caregivers,\u201d<\/strong> says Ann, \u201cI am driven by a desire to help them until a cure for Alzheimer\u2019s disease is found.\u201d <\/strong>Through it all, Ann was there to provide guidance and strength. And last week, you were there to support the dementia community as well.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n To everyone who joined us to raise critical funds through the silent auction, live auction, and raise the paddle event, thank you. With your help, the 2026 Visionary Luncheon & Auction raised over $180,000!<\/strong> 100% of the money raised at the event will stay in San Diego to help San Diegans affected by memory loss.
