{"id":798666,"date":"2026-05-15T17:29:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T17:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/798666\/"},"modified":"2026-05-15T17:29:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T17:29:12","slug":"eczema-cream-recalled-over-contamination-with-potentially-fatal-staph-bacteria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/798666\/","title":{"rendered":"Eczema cream recalled over contamination with potentially fatal staph bacteria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Health company Pharmacal is recalling a <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/safety\/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts\/pharmacal-issues-nationwide-recall-mg217-multi-symptom-treatment-cream-skin-protectant-eczema-cream\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">brand of eczema cream<\/a> that are contaminated with Staphylococcus bacteria, which can cause potentially fatal infections.<\/p>\n<p>The company is recalling MG217 Multi-symptom Treatment Cream &amp; Skin Protectant Eczema Cream, which was sold in 6oz tubes and intended for topical use.<\/p>\n<p>The products were found to be contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus, or staph, which has the potential to cause serious infections like endocarditis, sepsis and pneumonia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Patients with weakened immune systems or compromised skin \u2014 such as those with wounds, burns, or skin disorders \u2014 are at increased risk for serious infections,&#8221; the FDA warned.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the company hasn&#8217;t recorded any cases of infection from the contaminated product.<\/p>\n<p>The product can be identified with its UPC, 012277051067, lot code 1024088 and expiration date of November 2026.
