The family was told last month the case was closed and no crime was found. But just before 5 p.m. Thursday, HPD confirmed to KPRC 2 News reporter Corley Peel that the investigation is open and that detectives are reviewing information and evidence.

Corley spoke with Gamble’s sister, Rebekah Falke, who says disturbing videos allegedly documented by the man before and after Gamble’s death raise serious questions about what happened.

“It was just so disturbing and it’s a nightmare,” Falke said.

According to Falke, Gamble was admitted to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in downtown Houston on November 17 for altered mental status. She suffered from Type 1 diabetes and epilepsy. Falke says Gamble was released from the hospital without family members being notified.

The family reported Gamble missing. Roughly 10 days later, they learned the medical examiner already had her body.

“They suspected that she had possibly been dead for multiple days prior to the discovery of her body,” Falke said.

Desperate for answers, family members searched a Metro-related Facebook page and found what they believe is a critical clue, a Facebook Live video of a man filming Gamble at a Metro station after she left the hospital.

“It just so happened to be that when she ended up on the Facebook page, this man had Facebook Live’d Brittany at the Metro station,” Falke said.

In the video, Gamble can be heard saying, “Get home… need to get some water.”

Falke says that was the last video of her sister alive. Other videos on the man’s page, the family says, appear to show Gamble after her death.

“We watched like a four-hour video where he is literally laying beside her body on this air mattress, sleeping beside my sister’s deceased body,” Falke said.

The family also noticed a ball of Gamble’s hair placed near a Bible inside the apartment. They said her face was gray and lifeless. The man was heard making disturbing comments and even seen changing Gamble’s clothes, according to Falke. She said the man eventually called 911 and Gamble’s body was removed.

The autopsy results were listed as undetermined.

The man has not been arrested and has not been named as a suspect. The family was devastated when HPD told them last month the case was closed. Falke says she turned to social media to raise awareness and soon after, the case was reopened.

“I feel like getting her story out there and making sure that this never happens to other people, that’s our biggest goal,” Falke said.

Houston Police have not named the man or identified him publicly as a suspect at this time.
