Spring has sprung, and there is plenty to do around North Texas this weekend. From new art exhibits to musical entertainment, here’s what is going on in DFW the weekend of May 15-17.<\/p>\n
Black Photojournalism<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n The Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth is opening a new exhibit highlighting Black photojournalists. The exhibit will showcase 60 photographers who worked across the United States between 1945 and the mid-1980s.<\/p>\n The exhibit opens May 15 and runs through July 5. <\/p>\n Grapevine Main Street fest<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Grapevine is hosting its 42nd annual Main Street Fest. The festival runs from Friday May 15 through Sunday May 17. In the heart of Historic Grapevine, enjoy three days of eats, shopping, live music and a carnival and midway. The city will also be celebrating Mayor William Tate’s 50th year in office.<\/p>\n Tickets are $10 each or you can get a weekend pass for $20. See the iconic rock band perform live on Saturday, May 16. Show starts at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n Summer Classical Music Series<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Classical Music returns to Mockingbird Station on May 16. Mark Landson, from Open Classical, will host over a dozen performers to kick off the series. The event will be held in the outdoor amphitheater outside the Angelika Film Center and it\u2019s free!<\/p>\n AAPI Heritage & Dragon Boat Festival<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Head out to the White Rock Lake on May 17 for the AAPI Heritage & Dragon Boat Festival. Enjoy food from local vendors, performances and more. The event is free, with dragon boat races starting at 8:30am and the entire festival running until 5 p.m.<\/p>\n Movie in the Park Denton<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Bring the whole family to the lawn outside the Quakertown Civic Center in Denton to watch The Lorax on May 15. The movie starts at 7 p.m. <\/p>\n Halperin Park Night Market<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Check out the newest park in Dallas. Halperin Park is hosting a night market featuring local goods on May 15 from 6-9 p.m.<\/p>\n Dallas Trinity FC<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Dallas Trinity FC is wrapping up its regular season.
