CHICAGO (WLS) — A suspect has been charged with stabbing and seriously injuring a man in the Loop on Thursday night, Chicago police said on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Police said the attack<\/a> happened near State and Randolph streets around 9:15 p.m. Officers could be seen investigating outside of the Walgreens there.<\/p>\n

A 26-year-old man approached a group of males outside and began arguing with them, police said.<\/p>\n

Police said 36-year-old Alejandro Tellez took out a sharp object and stabbed the 25-year-old in the back.<\/p>\n

The victim was transported to Northwestern Hospital in serious condition.<\/p>\n

Police took Tellez into custody. He is charged with first-degree attempted murder and aggravated battery.<\/p>\n
