Scottie Scheffler cruised to a win in the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland on Sunday. <\/p>\n

Scheffler earned $3.1 million of the $17 million purse with the victory, bringing his career PGA Tour earnings total<\/a> to roughly $91 million. <\/p>\n

The 29-year-old now has four major championships under his belt, with three of his wins occurring over the past two years. <\/p>\n

1,197 days separated Scheffler’s first major from his fourth, with legendary golfer Tiger Woods accomplishing the same feat in the exact amount of time. <\/p>\n

Scheffler’s recent success has helped him earn over $12.3 million in tournament wins since May 4.<\/p>\n

Scheffler already entered the fourth round of the Open with a a four-shot lead over the rest of the field after finishing with scores of 68, 64 and 67 in his first three rounds respectively.<\/p>\n

He remained sharp on Sunday, recording five birdies and navigating around a double bogey on hole No. 8 to finish the day at three-under 68.<\/p>\n

The No. 1\u00a0player<\/a>\u00a0in the World Golf Ranking led by as many as seven shots in Round 4, but he ran into some trouble after hitting his tee shot into a bunker on No. 8. It took him four shots to get on the putting surface before he registered his lone double bogey.<\/p>\n

Scheffler didn’t seem to be fazed by the blemish, as he immediately followed it up with his fourth birdie on hole No. 9.<\/p>\n
