Later in the morning, it was revealed that everyone on board were officers with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/tag\/dallas-police-department\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dallas Police Department.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Officers said they were called to the area of Sage Hill Parkway and Helms Trail shortly after midnight for a single-engine aircraft crash. Two were taken to a hospital for treatment, while the third person was treated and released at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The Dallas Police Department later confirmed in a statement that all three were off-duty officers. The Dallas Police Association <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dallas.assoc\/posts\/pfbid02Xv89sjEKcLooPrSS3H8w1RDr3B4TMCQpTkfuETP6CPe157DVoqMiSPEt1ty1ZvPWl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">said on Facebook <\/a>that the officers were returning from a personal trip and asked for thoughts and prayers for them.<\/p>\n<p>The department said it was working with the FAA and Texas DPS at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A news release from the FAA said the plane involved was a Bellanca Downer 14-19-3.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Further details about what lead up to the crash were not immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>Forney is located about 21 miles east of Dallas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content__tags__label\">In:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A small plane made an emergency landing overnight in a field, according to the Forney Police Department.
