Horse racing\u2019s Triple Crown season for 2026 will wrap up Saturday, June 6 at Saratoga Race Course with the 158th running of the Belmont Stakes.<\/p>\n

The race is being contested at Saratoga Race Course for a third consecutive year due to construction at Belmont Park and could feature a matchup between Kentucky Derby winner<\/a> Golden Tempo and Preakness winner<\/a> Napoleon Solo.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Belmont will be run on Saturday, June 6, in its traditional spot on the racing calendar three weeks after the Preakness Stakes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The post time for the race is to be determined, but has been just after 7 p.m. the last two years.<\/p>\n

No starters for the Belmont have been confirmed, but the New York Racing Association has the first- and second-place finishers from the Kentucky Derby, Golden Tempo and Renegade, listed as its top potential contenders<\/a>. Other potential entrants include Commandment, Further Ado, Potente, Chief Wallabee, Emerging Market and Albus.<\/p>\n

The field for the Belmont is capped at 14 entrants. The field will be set when the post position draw is held on June 1 at 5 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n

For the third consecutive year, the Belmont Stakes will be held at the historic Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The New York Racing Association has moved the race to Saratoga while Belmont Park on Long Island has been closed due to a massive, multi-year renovation project.<\/p>\n

The Belmont Stakes is set to return to the rebuilt Belmont Park in 2027. The racetrack in Elmont is scheduled to reopen in September 2026 and will host the 2027 Breeders\u2019 Cup in addition to the return of the Belmont Stakes.<\/p>\n

The 2026 Belmont Stakes will be televised by Fox.<\/p>\n

Coverage on Fox is scheduled to start at 4 p.m., leading into the Belmont Stakes itself with a post time just before 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
