Congratulations are in order for Alex Cooper<\/a> and Matt Kaplan!<\/p>\n

The couple, who have been married since 2024, announced on social media on Sunday, May 17, that they are expecting their first child together.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Our family,”<\/strong> Alex, 31, simply wrote alongside photos of her husband, 42, cradling her baby bump. In the snaps, Alex wore a white crop top with matching sweats to highlight her growing belly.<\/p>\n

Quickly, the pair were inundated with congratulatory messages from friends and fans, with fellow expecting mom Tay Lautner even commenting: “YES YES YES YES YES YESSSSSS!!!!! So excited for you both,” and several others going with the quip: “Call Her Mommy!”<\/p>\n

Last year, the Call Her Daddy host spoke candidly about struggling with the idea of becoming a mom at first. “I just felt in my body that I want to grind at work and I want to be selfish a little longer,” she admitted during a solo podcast episode.<\/p>\n

“I wanna enjoy what I’ve worked so [expletive] hard for. I wanna go on a weekend trip with my husband and [expletive] and have no responsibilities after the longest work week. I wanna throw Unwell parties after a million meetings that week \u2014 get on a plane and go fly and have drinks with the Daddy Gang.”<\/p>\n

    She continued: “I want to host events where we get to talk and connect and meet and celebrate everything we’ve built, which is this gorgeous, incredible community of women. So, this past year, that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve been being selfish and I’ve been living.”<\/p>\n

    In the summer of 2024, the couple began trying, but Alex’s health was severely impacted by going off of birth control, including bouts of dizziness and vertigo. And that impacted her self confidence and her faith in her abilities as a mother.<\/p>\n

    “I don’t know exactly when it hit me, but in the moments where I was being really honest with myself, which took a minute, but I eventually realized I wasn’t ready,” she noted. “When I got to feeling healthier again, as nice as that was, it didn’t make me want to rush and have a baby.”<\/p>\n

    “Instead, it made me more anxious because I should have felt ready and I felt so frustrated with myself and I felt guilty.”<\/p>\n

    Earlier this year, while speaking on her podcast with Jeannette McCurdy, Alex explained that she wasn’t into the idea in her 20s of being a mom, but since entering her 30s and getting married, she’s been more interested in motherhood.<\/p>\n

    “It was just like a lot of self-work that I had to do on myself,” she explained. “Not saying that, like, you have to do self-work if you want to have kids, just for me, in the place I was in my life, I couldn’t even fathom it. And then something changed.”<\/p>\n
