Florida Highway Patrol (WJXT, Copyright 2025 News4JAX – All Rights Reserved)<\/p>\n
NASSAU COUNTY, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 A driver was killed early Sunday morning after losing control of a vehicle, striking a palm tree, and becoming trapped as the car caught fire, the Florida Highway Patrol said.<\/p>\n The crash occurred around 1:37 a.m. at the intersection of Sadler Road and South 8th Street. <\/p>\n According to FHP, the sedan was traveling westbound on Sadler Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and left the roadway.<\/p>\n The driver was unable to exit the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n As of the time of the release, investigators had not yet identified the driver. Next of kin had not been notified.
