Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the IDF has been mitigating the threat of drones against Israel for the past six years at his direction during a Sunday afternoon cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt my request, the IDF installed canopies on the tanks. That was one measure,\u201d Netanyahu<\/a> said, adding that the IDF and the Defense Ministry had done \u201ca great deal over the years,\u201d thwarting \u201cmany hundreds, if not thousands, including UAVs, thousands of attempted drone and UAV strikes against our forces.\u201d<\/p>\n Netanyahu stated that the IDF was succeeding in their efforts against the drones.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery time there is a new threat, they succeed in neutralizing it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The prime minister announced the formation of a new team to combat the Fiber-Optic\/First-Person View (FPV) drones Hezbollah is using<\/a>, labeling them \u201ca specific type of threat.\u201d<\/p>\n The team comprises individuals from the Defense Ministry, others from the defense industries, and those from the civilian sector.<\/p>\n Netanyahu met with the team three times in the past two weeks and told them they had an unlimited budget.<\/p>\n \u201cWhatever it costs, it costs. You also have no limits, as far as I know, to your creativity and imagination, because you are the best in the world,\u201d Netanyahu said he told the team.<\/p>\n Netanyahu also said that Israel was \u201cvery close\u201d to killing everyone involved in planning the October 7th massacre.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have Hamas in our grip,\u201d the prime minister said.<\/p>\n He reiterated Israel\u2019s accomplishments, including the elimination of Hamas leader Izz ad-Din al-Haddad over the weekend and Israel\u2019s recovery of all hostages held in Gaza.<\/p>\n
