JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 The Duval County Supervisor of Elections is urging voters to update their registration after the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles implemented a new system for driver license and identification card numbers in 2024.<\/p>\n
The change requires that driver licenses and ID\u2019s include at least four randomly generated numbers, impacting voter verification for various record updates, initiative petitions and vote-by-mail ballot requests.<\/p>\n
This new legislation was designed to enhance security and prevent identity theft. As a result of this update, voters who have obtained a new driver license must ensure that the Supervisor of Elections office has their most current driver license number on file.<\/p>\n
