A monster ex-con on parole\u00a0fatally knifed a mom of three <\/a>at a Long Island gas station as stunned bystanders watched in horror, prosecutors said Sunday.<\/p>\n

Michael McHenry, 40 \u2014 who had just been freed from prison in March \u2014 stabbed his 30-year-old\u00a0girlfriend and home-health aide Juliann Bachmann in a violent frenzy outside a Speedway gas station in Yaphank shortly before 7:30 a.m. Saturday, according to authorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe wanted to be friends with everybody, have love from everybody,\u201d Bachmann\u2019s heartbroken younger sister, Kristen, told about 50 friends and relatives gathered at a Sunday evening vigil for her slain sister at the Speedway.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis guy is somebody that I think she thought she would find some sort of love with,\u201d the shattered sibling said. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut he actually took four lives,\u201d Kristen Bachmann said \u2014 referring to Juliann and her three children.\u00a0<\/p>\n

McHenry is accused of stabbing Bachmann in the neck and chest, with the fatal attack taking place in her car and on the ground after he dragged her out of the vehicle, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

The dying woman was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead, according to police.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors said bystanders dialed 911 during the vicious assault,\u00a0but the brute took off before police could get to the scene.<\/p>\n

McHenry was then picked up by police around 8:15 p.m. Saturday and charged in the shocking, fatal assault, cops said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The accused killer was held overnight at Suffolk\u2019s Third Precinct and led to court Sunday, shielding his face from news photographers as he was led out of the stationhouse in shackles with several other prisoners.<\/p>\n

He was arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip.<\/p>\n

In court, the slain woman\u2019s grieving dad wept as he watched his daughter\u2019s alleged killer \u2014 who made faces and glared during the proceeding \u2014 be ordered held without bail for the crime.<\/p>\n

McKenry, Bachmann\u2019s boyfriend, allegedly dragged her from her car, stabbing her in the neck and chest. John Roca for NY Post<\/p>\n

McKenry was paroled in March after serving time for a 2024 second-degree attempted assault conviction. Facebook\/Julie Mary<\/p>\n

McHenry is now charged with second-degree murder\u00a0in the brutal slaying of the mom.<\/a><\/p>\n

Police did not reveal a possible motive and would only say that \u201cthe two were known to each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prosecutors said they were in a relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought we would grow old together,\u201d said Kristen Bachmann, who lives five houses down from her sister, at the vigil. \u201cI really don\u2019t know how to process it all, and I still haven\u2019t.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s going to be looking over each and every one of us, including her babies,\u201d she said of her sister. \u201cShe ain\u2019t going nowhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Juliann was part of a tight \u201ctrio of besties\u201d with close friends Nay Warren and Tasha Robinson, who helped organize the vigil.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday we came together in light and love to remind us that even in loss, the people we love continue to shine bright through our memories,\u201d Warren said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

McHenry was sentenced to two to four years in state prison in 2024 on a second-degree attempted assault conviction and paroled in March, according to online records.<\/p>\n
