There aren\u2019t many places to get a double shot with some eggs at 6:45 a.m., after all.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eddebevics.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Ed Debevic\u2019s<\/a>, 159 E. Ohio St.<\/p>\n<p>This old-school diner still looks like it\u2019s in the 1950s, making it a classic attraction for those who want a burger and fries with a side of snark from their server. A visit to Ed Debevic\u2019s inspired Carmy\u2019s father to open his own restaurant, thus spurring the world of \u201cThe Bear.\u201d Insults may be the best motivation, evidently.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geneandjudes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Gene &amp; Jude\u2019s<\/a>, 2720 N. Randolph St.<\/p>\n<p>Avec in the West Loop served as an inspiration to the showrunners, and Uncle Jimmy (Oliver Platt) is loosely based off of Donnie Madia, founding partner of One Off Hospitality, <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7ny.com\/videoClip\/15085674\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">according to<\/a> ABC7 New York. Belmont Ave.<\/p>\n<p>This legendary dive bar in Avondale hosts karaoke every night of the week and is a favorite for those in the restaurant industry, with Sundays designated as industry night. Perhaps that\u2019s why the series\u2019 culinary crew winds up there in a Season 2 episode, where Bear staffer Tina (Liza Col\u00f3n-Zayas) performs \u201cBefore the Next Teardrop Falls\u201d by Freddy Fender.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.after-chicago.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">After<\/a>, 1338 W. Fulton St.<\/p>\n<p>You can grab a light bite, swanky cocktail or even caviar service at After. For Carmy, it\u2019s the perfect place to sketch. The Fulton Market lounge has shown up multiple times in the series, last transformed through TV magic into a Copenhagen restaurant where Marcus studied in Season 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.damnfinechicago.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Damn Fine Coffee Bar<\/a>, 3317 W. Armitage Ave.<\/p>\n<p>Sydney stopped by this Logan Square cafe in Season 2 to put up a sign on the (fictional) bulletin board as The Bear searched for a new line cook.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/elskerestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Elske<\/a>, 1350 W. Unfortunately, patrons won\u2019t be able to spot Colman at the restaurant \u2014 at least, don\u2019t bank on it \u2014 but you might recognize some front of house staff, who have also appeared on \u201cThe Bear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.giantrestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Giant<\/a>, 3209 W. Armitage Ave.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t remember Giant appearing on \u201cThe Bear,\u201d it\u2019s because producers transformed the Logan Square restaurant into the fictional Verdana French Bistro, where Sydney visited to get advice before opening the new Bear restaurant in Season 2. While Verdana was made for TV, the chefs in the background of the scene are very real.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kasamachicago.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Kasama<\/a>, 1001 N. Winchester Ave.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blockclubchicago.org\/2022\/05\/05\/no-place-like-kasama-premieres-in-chicago-next-week-telling-the-story-of-new-michelin-starred-restaurant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">The first Michelin-starred Filipino restaurant in the country<\/a>, Kasama is highly regarded for its iconic breakfast sandwich and pastries, as well as its dinner tasting menu Thursday to Sunday. The Ukrainain Village restaurant appeared during Sydney\u2019s food tour in Season 2, while chef Genie Kwon cameoed in Season 3.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kasiasdeli.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Kasia\u2019s Deli<\/a>, 2101 W. Michigan Ave.<\/p>\n<p>The Loop-based culinary school \u2014 one of the top ranked in the nation \u2014 appeared in several episodes of the show\u2019s second season, when Tina and line cook Ebraheim (Edwin Lee Gibson) studied under chef instructor Mike Salzinski.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oldfriendchicago.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Lao Peng You<\/a>, 2020 W. Chicago Ave.<\/p>\n<p>This tiny, casual Chinese eatery is first-come, first-served, and the wait for its dumplings can err on the long side. Western Ave.<\/p>\n<p>Sydney\u2019s Season 2 food tour included a stop at Margie\u2019s Candies for a sundae, and maybe that\u2019s where the episode (\u201cSundae\u201d) scored its name from. The ice cream parlor has been an institution in the city for 105 years; a second location opened in Ravenswood in 2005.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pequodspizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Pequod\u2019s Pizza<\/a>, 2207 N. Clybourn Ave.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most famous deep-dish pizzas in the city \u2014 even if some argue whether Pequod\u2019s signature caramelized crust is really deep-dish \u2014 appeared on Season 2, when Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) uses a cookie cutter and micro basil to fancy up the pizza for customers at The Bear.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pizzalobo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Pizza Lobo<\/a>, 3000 W. Fulton Market<\/p>\n<p>One of the city\u2019s most renowned butcher shops made an appearance on Season 2, as Sydney makes a stop during her food tour to commiserate with chef and butcher Rob Levitt. To coincide with the Season 3 premiere, the store launched a themed \u201cBear Box\u201d of doughnuts.
