School districts across New York state are holding votes for school budgets, propositions and board of education seats Tuesday. Here is a look at a few Central New York districts and what’s on their ballots.<\/p>\n

In North Syracuse, district leaders’ $233,406,875 budget proposal calls for a 5.25% tax levy increase. This would require a supermajority vote to pass. There’s also a vehicle bonding proposition and a town of Salina library proposition on the ballot. Here is more information on the proposal.<\/a><\/p>\n

Liverpool’s $215,883,707 budget proposal would cut 78 jobs and raise the property tax levy by 3.3%, within the state property tax cap. Three seats on the Board of Education will also be decided on the ballot. More information on the proposed Liverpool budget can be found here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Watertown’s $112 million budget brings a 2.5% tax levy increase, which is the highest in 10 years. It includes investments in infrastructure at Watertown High School, as well as funding to keep school safety officers and resource officers in place. If passed, two universal pre-kindergarten classrooms would be added. More information on the budget proposal can be found here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Fulton’s budget proposal would come with a 2.85% tax increase. The district is facing a $5 million shortfall, and is looking at laying off 54 employees.
