The vanilla Huawei Pura 80<\/a> is late to the party \u2013 the rest of the Pura 80 family launched in China in early June<\/a> and even managed an international launch<\/a> since then. The vanilla model is only now ready to go and will be available in China this Wednesday (July 23).<\/p>\n

Or maybe not even then, Huawei\u2019s posts on Weibo talk of a pre-sale, suggesting that actual availability will come later. The posts mention school, so Huawei seems to be positioning this as a phone for students (school in China starts in early September).<\/p>\n

The Huawei Pura 80 is coming on Wednesday (July 23)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The official page for the Pura 80 on Huawei China<\/a> still lacks a \u201cBuy\u201d button and looking for the vanilla Pura 80 on the online store<\/a>, we come up empty-handed. We will know more on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

For now, we have to turn to leakster Digital Chat Station for more details. Apparently, the Huawei Pura 80 is powered by the Kirin 9010S and not a Kirin 9020<\/a> like the Pura 80 Pro+ and Pura 80 Ultra. Unfortunately, no details on the chip are available. The original Kirin 9010 has an octa-core Taishan CPU (1+3+4) with hyper-threading and a Maleoon 910 GPU.<\/p>\n

Huawei didn’t even say how much the Pura 80 will cost. DCS points to the CNY 5,500 ($765) launch price of the Pura 70 (12\/256GB) as a benchmark. The higher-tier Pura 80 Pro (12\/256GB) starts at CNY 6,500, so this sounds about right. The phone will launch with the brand new HarmonyOS 5.1 and will be available in four colors: Velvet Gold, Velvet Green, Velvet White and Velvet Black.<\/p>\n
