{"id":805703,"date":"2026-05-18T19:02:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T19:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/805703\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T19:02:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T19:02:10","slug":"bishop-arts-cocktail-lounge-casablanca-becomes-event-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/805703\/","title":{"rendered":"Bishop Arts cocktail lounge Casablanca becomes event space"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A popular cocktail lounge in Bishop Arts has closed and has been turned into an event space, a decision that has caused mixed reactions among the public.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Casablanca,\u00a0previously\u00a0called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2021\/10\/22\/inside-casablanca-a-grown-and-sexy-lounge-in-dallas-oak-cliff\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">a \u201cgrown and sexy\u201d hangout spot<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0the CEO of the restaurant and\u00a0bar\u2019s\u00a0operator, was\u00a0located\u00a0in the heart of\u00a0the artsy Dallas neighborhood. It\u00a0offered\u00a0Moroccan and Mediterranean-inspired dishes\u00a0and\u00a0six karaoke rooms in the back of the space that\u00a0acted\u00a0as\u00a0a\u00a0\u201csingeasy\u201d\u00a0named Casanova.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0popular\u00a0cocktail lounge\u00a0was from a company called\u00a0Exxir Capital, which is behind what\u00a0The Dallas Morning News\u00a0previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/project\/best-restaurant-patios-dallas\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">called\u00a0\u201csome of the most gorgeous dining rooms in Dallas<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0Paradiso, an Italian restaurant with a breezy courtyard, and cocktail lounge Bar Eden are some of the spots under the company\u2019s belt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company reintroduced the Casablanca space in a March 6 Instagram post\u00a0as \u201cVilla Paradiso,\u201d\u00a0Paradiso\u2019s private-event villa. With a \u201cbeautiful indoor-outdoor space,\u201d Villa Paradiso was designed for celebrations of all kinds, the Instagram post said. Villa Paradiso is a block south of Paradiso and Bar Eden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom birthday soir\u00e9es and bridal showers to brand activations, rehearsal dinners, and unforgettable gatherings, Villa Paradiso offers a stunning setting just steps from the heart of Bishop Arts,\u201d the post said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In the comments, some expressed their dissatisfaction with the change.\u00a0\u201cBring\u00a0back\u00a0Casablanca. Dallas\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0need another event space,\u201d one user\u00a0wrote. Another said:\u00a0\u201cWill miss Casablanca.\u00a0Don\u2019t\u00a0know why they would do this.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There were some in favor of the new change, however. One user wrote \u201cObsessed\u201d with the heart-eye emoji, while another said \u201cWowza, y\u2019all killed it! Absolutely stunning!!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The News\u00a0reached out to\u00a0Exxir\u00a0Capital\u00a0by phone and\u00a0email Monday morning but did not\u00a0immediately\u00a0hear\u00a0back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Casablanca\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/food\/restaurant-news\/2021\/10\/22\/inside-casablanca-a-grown-and-sexy-lounge-in-dallas-oak-cliff\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">originally opened in October 2021<\/a>,\u00a0and its menu, which was full of shareable dishes, included sweet potato dumplings, lamb kabobs and kofte.
