HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 For 41 years U.S. Coins & Jewelry<\/a> has been buying and selling rare coins, watches, jewelry and collectible memorabilia. Now, in their 8,000+ square foot showroom off I-10, there are even more reasons to stop by. <\/p>\n

\u201cIn our store we hand-pick and see millions of coins,\u201d said Matthew Duncan, co-owner of the business, who pointed to a display case holding a $10,000 bill from 1934. <\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of customers don\u2019t even know these exist,\u201d Duncan added, explaining that each $10,000 is worth six figures because they\u2019re so rare.<\/p>\n

In addition to rare coins and paper money, U.S. Coins & Jewelry is also a leading buyer and seller of fine jewelry and hard-to-find watches through their new luxury watch division, Duncan Watch Co. <\/p>\n

They also have rare collectible memorabilia from sports greats like Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle, and from leading figures in history like Sam Houston, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe George Washington gets a lot of a lot of looks,\u201d said Duncan, pointing to a framed document on the wall of the showroom.<\/p>\n

Customers often liken the showroom to a gallery or a museum. Right now there\u2019s even a framed poem signed by famed Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. <\/p>\n

Throughout the month of May, during U.S. Coins & Jewelry<\/a>\u2019s grand opening, they\u2019re unveiling new treasures from their vault every single week, like an 88 oz. bar of gold, retrieved from the SS Central America that sank in 1857. Today\u2019s value: nearly half a million dollars. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole idea is just to have an outing the whole week where customers and and kiddos can come in and and have fun with their parents and look through really cool items,\u201d said Duncan. <\/p>\n

Mr. Duncan and his team also buy jewelry, watches, and collectible memorabilia. He says his team will provide a fair appraisal and, in many cases, a payout on the spot.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople are wild about how much gold, you know, or just a little earring or a necklace is worth,\u201d Duncan said, explaining that customers are often surprised by the value of items that have just been sitting in their drawer. <\/p>\n

\u201cUsually customers come in and they\u2019re like, \u201cWow, this was super easy. I had no idea I could walk in with a bag full of coins and get a value of what I have,\u201d Duncan added.<\/p>\n

With 41 years in business and counting and with their new 8,000 square foot showroom, Matthew and his team at U.S. Coins & Jewelry is already looking forward to what\u2019s next.<\/p>\n
