Let my voice crack. Let it show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of the moments Brinkley described in the book was discovering how her fourth husband, architect Peter Cook, was\u00a0unfaithful after eight years of marriage.<\/p>\n<p>According to the outlet, Brinkley was at a graduation ceremony in 2006 to give a commencement speech. She described how a man approached her with a revelation that had the \u201cweight of a wrecking ball, delivered in barely a whisper.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI asked him to repeat it,\u201d she recalled before turning to look at Cook.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then I looked at Jack,\u201d she said about her son. \u201cJack\u2019s face was frozen in panic. He felt it instantly. She saw \u201cmouths agape,\u201d reminding her of \u201cThe Scream\u201d oil painting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey all knew,\u201d the outlet shared. \u201cMaybe some judged. Maybe some didn\u2019t. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo,\u201d he said. \u201cBut I\u2019m\u00a0a cop at the Southampton station.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the ceremony, Jack rushed over to his mother and asked what was wrong. She told him, \u201cMommy needs to go to the police station.\u201d There, she would get more information about how her marriage was unraveling.<\/p>\n<p>Brinkley told the outlet that she didn\u2019t know what readers would expect from her book.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had thought this book might sit on shelves,\u201d she admitted. \u201cI worried it would embarrass my kids. But people bought it. They loved it. I cried.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In her book, Brinkley describes how the police officer who made the revelation was the father of the 18-year-old Cook was involved with.<\/p>\n<p>Brinkley was married to her fourth husband, Peter Cook, from 1996 to 2008. Djamilla Rosa Cochran<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know from Peter\u2019s face that he was guilty,\u201d Brinkley wrote. \u201cWhen your whole world falls apart, and you realize in a heartbeat you\u2019ve suddenly become the clich\u00e9 middle-aged woman whose husband is having an affair with a much (much) younger woman, what do you do?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That night, Cook was out of the house. And friends urged Brinkley to search the family computer. They even came over to help, an operation Brinkley said looked like something out of \u201cCharlie\u2019s Angels.\u201d There, she found a \u201ccreepy labyrinth of files and photos I never knew existed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was good at guessing passwords, and soon enough, a panoply of frightening email exchanges, incriminating photos, and porn accounts populated the screen like fireworks,\u201d\u00a0Brinkley wrote. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was so insane that it was almost funny, and soon enough, the three of us were doubled over in laughter, as printouts of girls in X-rated poses began piling up on the floor faster than trash outside a greasy takeaway.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The veteran Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model is on the cover of Social Life Magazine in celebration of her memoir, \u201cUptown Girl,\u201d which came out earlier this year. Social Life Magazine reported that the divorce trial was \u201ctabloid catnip and a full-blown media spectacle.\u201d It was also \u201ca mother fighting to protect her cubs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Today, Brinkley told the outlet she finds solace tending to her garden, just like another famous blonde.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI admire Pamela [Anderson],\u201d Brinkley told Social Life about the \u201cBaywatch\u201d icon. \u201cI think we were both misread. Different myths were built around each of us, and now we\u2019ve found the freedom to say what was always ours. We\u2019re not salon blondes. We\u2019re hands-in-the-dirt women. We bloom in the garden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brinkley previously told Fox News Digital she dares to love again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find that love is the strongest thing in the whole world, and we are surrounded by love,\u201d she said. \u201cThere are so many kinds of love and love for our friends, love for our families, love for nature and love for people that protect nature. I love love \u2013 I feel like my life is so full of love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think if there\u2019s\u00a0a romantic love that comes along, it would be wonderful,\u201d she shared. \u201cBut I also feel very content and happy with the life that I have right now.
