{"id":807997,"date":"2026-05-19T18:08:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T18:08:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/807997\/"},"modified":"2026-05-19T18:08:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T18:08:14","slug":"putin-arrives-in-beijing-with-entourage-of-ministers-and-ceos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/807997\/","title":{"rendered":"Putin Arrives in Beijing With Entourage of Ministers and CEOs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing late Tuesday for talks with his Chinese counterpart and &#8220;long-time good friend&#8221; Xi Jinping, intending to show their ties are unshakeable days after a visit by Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Putin arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport around 11:15 p.m. (15:15 GMT) on Tuesday, where he was greeted by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and a military band.<\/p>\n<p>He is accompanied by an entourage of cabinet ministers and the chief executives of Russia\u2019s largest state-owned and private corporations for the two-day state visit.<\/p>\n<p>The delegation <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/youlistenedmayak\/42305\" title=\"includes\" rel=\"nofollow\">includes<\/a> Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and aluminum tycoon Oleg Deripaska, as well as the heads of state development corporation VEB, nuclear agency Rosatom and space corportation Roscosmos.<\/p>\n<p>Sberbank CEO German Gref, VTB Bank CEO Andrei Kostin and Russian Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina are also traveling, alongside five deputy prime ministers and eight cabinet ministers.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"3\">\u201cWe\u2019re not competing with anyone in the composition of our delegations,\u201d Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/youlistenedmayak\/42295\" title=\"said\" rel=\"nofollow\">said<\/a> Monday. \u201cWe\u2019re developing our independent and very multifaceted relations with China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"p-rc_45a18bf055a99799-134\" data-path-to-node=\"4\">The May 19-20 summit comes less than a week after Chinese leader Xi Jinping hosted U.S. President Donald Trump in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">While Trump also brought a delegation of prominent American executives, including Elon Musk and Tim Cook, the Kremlin downplayed any comparisons, framing its own trip as a reflection of a \u201cprivileged, special strategic partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">According to earlier\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/moscowtimes_ru\/45641\" title=\"reports\" rel=\"nofollow\">reports<\/a>, Putin intends to make a renewed push to convince Xi to finalize the stalled Power of Siberia 2 pipeline project.
