{"id":81058,"date":"2025-07-21T16:34:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-21T16:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/81058\/"},"modified":"2025-07-21T16:34:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T16:34:09","slug":"2-houston-towns-make-2025-list-of-wealthiest-u-s-suburbs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/81058\/","title":{"rendered":"2 Houston towns make 2025 list of wealthiest U.S. suburbs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two well-to-do Houston-area communities \u2013 <strong>West <\/strong><strong>University Place<\/strong> and <strong>Bellaire<\/strong> \u2013 are among the wealthiest suburbs in America in 2025, a new report has confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The affluent Houston neighbors were lauded in GoBankingRates just-released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gobankingrates.com\/money\/wealth\/these-are-americas-wealthiest-suburbs-in-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ranking<\/a> of the 50 wealthiest U.S. suburbs, based on 2022 and 2023 average household income data sourced from the U.S. Census Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>West U. ranked as the third wealthiest suburb for the second consecutive year, while Bellaire moved up into the No. 23 spot after ranking 25th in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to last year&#8217;s report, the average income for a West U. household has increased by $5,832, to $409,677. The value of the typical home in this affluent Houston enclave is nearing in the seven-figure range, at almost $983,000 in May, which the report noted is 4.61 percent higher than it was this time last year.<\/p>\n<p>West U.&#8217;s prosperity is no secret \u2013 and neither was late CultureMap columnist Ken Hoffman&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/city-life\/ken-hoffman-west-u-bellaire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">opinion<\/a> about that West U. isn&#8217;t a suburb \u2013 but fast-growing cities like <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/real-estate\/fastest-growing-wealthy-suburbs-fulshear\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Fulshear<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/city-life\/high-income-households-pearland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pearland<\/a> may soon compete with the likes of West. U and Bellaire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"shortcode-media shortcode-media-rebelmouse-image\">\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"58c1f\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"d887bf12b9a7c9b938cb4df61a812aeb\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%20912%20682'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/4312-bellaire-boulevard-bellaire-home-for-sale.jpg\" width=\"912\" height=\"682\" alt=\"4312 Bellaire Boulevard, Bellaire home for sale\"\/>\u00a0This luxurious mansion in Bellaire is on the market for $2.85 million.Photo courtesy of Zillow<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Bellaire&#8217;s average household income now surpasses $311,000, compared to $294,605 from last year&#8217;s report. <\/p>\n<p>Bellaire certainly has its share of <a href=\"https:\/\/houston.culturemap.com\/news\/real-estate\/5219-pine-street-home-forsale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">over-the-top homes<\/a> on the market for hefty price tags. The report said the typical Bellaire home value in May came out to more than $1.13 million, up from about $1.08 million in the 2024 report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elsewhere in Texas<\/strong><br \/>Houston wasn&#8217;t the only Texas metro to have entries on this year&#8217;s list. Two Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs, University Park and Southlake, were returnees in the 2025 report. University Park held on to its No. 6 spot for the second year in a row, while Southlake moved up six spots and is now the 7th most affluent American suburb.
