\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Dallas Fort Worth International Airport<\/a> board of directors approved contracts for work on a pedestrian bridge, parking lot addition, Skylink and Terminal F at the May 7 meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pedestrian bridge<\/strong><\/p>\n

A contract was awarded to Archer Western Construction of Dallas for $479,330 for both a temporary and a permanent repair of the pedestrian bridge connecting Terminals C and D.<\/p>\n

According to board documents, a recent inspection found a crack in the concrete support that needed to be repaired. The work lists a 259-day calendar term, which started Dec. 11, 2025.<\/p>\n

Parking lot<\/strong><\/p>\n

Construction started in early May for the expansion of the South Remote parking lot with Batson-Cook<\/a> of Irving for $11,635. The Irving-based company will add 1,500 parking spaces and a second entrance\/exit. The work will also feature an additional bus stop, according to board documents.<\/p>\n

The contract, awarded to the lowest of 10 bidders, is for 420 days.<\/p>\n

Terminal F<\/strong><\/p>\n

A reimbursement agreement with American Airlines for Terminal F procurement and construction services for Phases 1 and 1A was approved for $50 million. Terminal F is part of DFW Forward<\/a>, a $12 billion capital improvement plan.<\/p>\n

According to board documents, the work covered interior and exterior finishes within the American Airlines back-of-house spaces. It also included furniture, fixtures and equipment with Phase 1 hold rooms and gate area, miscellaneous equipment to support gate operations and coordination with the airport’s design-builder to finalize the building layout and configuration of the building systems.<\/p>\n

Skylink<\/strong><\/p>\n

The public address system serving the 10 existing Skylink<\/a> stations will be replaced and the new Terminal F Skylink public address infrastructure will be integrated into the systems. The contract with Alstom Transport USA<\/a> of Pittsburgh is for $3.95 million, and the revised total amount for the current contract is $31.10 million. The project construction period runs through Aug. 12, 2027, according to the board documents.<\/p>\n

The document added testing, and evaluation determined that the public address system infrastructure in the other terminals is obsolete and requires replacement to meet current and future needs.<\/p>\n
