The tribe has spoken \u2014 and the winner of Survivor 50<\/a> has been crowned.<\/p>\n

The landmark all-star season<\/a> named its Sole Survivor during Wednesday night’s finale after weeks of grueling challenges and dramatic blindsides.<\/p>\n

The CBS show assembled a supersize cast of 24 returning contestants from across its 25-year run \u2014 although some fan favorites<\/a> were notably absent.<\/p>\n

Along the way, viewers helped shape the game by voting on key twists, while celebrities including Billie Eilish, Jimmy Fallon and YouTuber MrBeast dropped in for surprise cameos.<\/p>\n

The live finale, which aired on CBS, saw five castaways battling for the show’s $2 million grand prize. Here’s what happened during the episode.<\/p>\n

Who won ‘Survivor 50’?<\/p>\n

Aubry Bracco was crowned the winner<\/a> of Survivor 50, earning the title of Sole Survivor. She beat fellow finalists Jonathan Young and Joe Hunter in an 8-3-0 vote at the Final Tribal Council, following a grilling from the jury.<\/p>\n

The two other members of Survivor 50’s Final Five \u2014 Tiffany Ervin and Rizo Velovic \u2014 were eliminated earlier in the finale.<\/p>\n

Bracco entered the episode as the most experienced player, and she was widely considered the favorite to triumph.<\/p>\n

The marketing consultant, from Hampton Falls, N.H., first rose to prominence as the runner-up on Season 32 (Ka\u00f4h R\u014dng). She later returned for Season 34 (Game Changers), where she finished fifth, and also had a brief appearance on Season 38 (Edge of Extinction).<\/p>\n

Reflecting on her victory, she said: “I came back, and I was more intuitive. I trusted myself, and I moved differently. And most importantly, I learned from all the players before me.”<\/p>\n

Hunter praised this season’s unpredictable twists, saying they “put everyone on their heels.”<\/p>\n

How did people react to Jeff Probst’s blunder?<\/p>\n

Host Jeff Probst spoiled<\/a> Velovic’s elimination before it aired, prompting the studio audience to gasp. Probst joked the blunder was a “Survivor twist” and the “last twist of the season.”<\/p>\n

Velovic called the flub a “memorable moment,” telling USA Today<\/a>: “I’m a part of history. I never thought that would have happened to me.”<\/p>\n

The inadvertent spoiler turned the finale into “a subversively entertaining train wreck,” said the Washington Post reporter Thomas Floyd<\/a>. “Innocent as it may be, it was yet another gaffe in a season filled with them,” he added.<\/p>\n

How much is the ‘Survivor 50’ prize money?<\/p>\n

The usual prize money for Survivor winners is $1 million. However, this year, it was upped to $2 million, following a twist introduced by MrBeast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The payout matches the largest prize in the show’s history. The only previous season to award $2 million was Season 40 (Winners at War), an all-champions edition that aired in 2020.<\/p>\n

That wasn’t the only money on offer. A separate $100,000 prize was handed to the season’s fan-favorite castaway, Cirie Fields, as decided by an online poll.<\/p>\n

What’s next for ‘Survivor’?<\/p>\n

Survivor 50 isn’t the end of the franchise \u2014 unsurprising news, given the show’s popularity and longevity. Survivor 51 has already been filmed in Fiji and will air on CBS this fall.<\/p>\n

A teaser for the new season, titled The Open Era, aired during the Survivor 50 finale. The clip teases a “shapeshifting” and “unpredictable” game, featuring twists from previous seasons alongside “dangerous new elements.” Watch it below:<\/p>\n

“The Open Era is taking the massive uncertainty [from Survivor 50] and making it permanent uncertainty,” Probst told viewers. “The idea is that anything that has ever happened at any time on the show can happen in any season at any time in any order without any warning. We’ve shot 51. It is very fun!”<\/p>\n

What about ‘Survivor 52’ and ‘Survivor 53’?<\/p>\n

Cameras will start rolling on Survivor 52 within days, according to Probst<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The show’s team has “not looked” at ideas for Season 53 yet, the host said at an event Tuesday. However, he added that he was already considering ways to shake up the format.<\/p>\n
