Let\u2019s be friends. <a href=\"https:\/\/billypenn.com\/newsletter-signup\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sign up for the Billy Penn newsletter today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Black Sheep Pub in Rittenhouse, a popular soccer-watching venue and home to Philly\u2019s official supporters\u2019 club for English Premier League team Manchester United, <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Tp28VNMl7p\" rel=\"nofollow\">has had to close its doors indefinitely after multiple fires<\/a> on Monday night and Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thankfully, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DYh0cTCOrCs\/?hl=en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Irish pub reported no injuries<\/a>, but it will be out of commission ahead of a summer when it would have been a popular gathering point for the FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>The Black Sheep plans to \u201ccome back even stronger,\u201d\u00a0 with owner James Stephens telling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phillyvoice.com\/black-sheep-pub-fire-closed\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0the Philly Voice<\/a> that the estimated return will be two months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mufcphilly\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MUFC Philadelphia<\/a> are helping to make sure that happens <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/help-rebuild-the-black-sheep-pub\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">by setting up a GoFundMe page<\/a> for the rebuild.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEvery donation will go directly toward supporting the staff, covering renovation costs, and helping to reopen the doors as soon as possible,\u201d the fundraiser\u2019s description reads.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Thursday evening, the effort had surpassed its initial goal of $6,500, and reached over $21,000 of its $28,000 goal.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has even caught some national attention from Men in Blazers host Roger Bennett, who posted a video supporting the cause.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPhiladephia football needs the Black Sheep,\u201d Bennett, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox29.com\/news\/men-blazers-live-show-philly-captures-citys-passion-ahead-fifa-world-cup\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">who recently toured in Philly<\/a>, said.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/billypenn.com\/author\/nickkariuki\/\" rel=\"author nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Nick Kariuki headshot\" src=\"https:\/\/billypenn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/cropped-05-21-2024-k-paynter-Nick-3-crop-1-120x120.jpg\"  class=\"avatar avatar-120 photo\" height=\"120\" width=\"120\"\/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNick Kariuki is Billy Penn\u2019s trending news reporter.
