Alexander Isak\u2019s agent has suggested they\u2019re close to finalising the player\u2019s next step, though whether that\u2019s a transfer or an extended stay at Newcastle United remains to be seen.\"NEWCASTLEPhoto by Stu Forster\/Getty Images<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabian website Al-Riyadiyah<\/a> have shared quotes from Alexander Isak\u2019s<\/a> agent on the potential of a summer transfer, with the representative saying: \u201cWe are already studying and analysing all options, and we may be close to finalising the next step for the player.\u201d<\/p>\n

The site adds that the agent didn\u2019t clarify any further details, including whether that next step would be a transfer or a stay in Newcastle. But their sources claim Isak is first choice for Al-Hilal this summer.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Equipe report (via GFFN<\/a>) that Al-Hilal are ramping up talks to sign Isak, with the club in the market for a centre-forward after seemingly missing out on Victor Osimhen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Saudi club are aware it would take \u20ac130m to sign Isak, but the player has at least opened the door to talks.<\/p>\n

Liverpool had also been keen on Isak, but David Ornstein<\/a> reports they\u2019ve just agreed a \u00a379m deal for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike<\/a>. In terms of the finances, they\u2019d probably need to make a sale before getting anywhere close to Newcastle\u2019s valuation of Isak.<\/p>\n

The same is probably true of Arsenal, who have always seemingly had Isak as their number-one target if he was available. The problem is that Newcastle have never seemed likely to sell.<\/p>\n

Luke Edwards reports for The Telegraph<\/a> that Newcastle continue to insist Isak isn\u2019t for sale at any price this summer, though they respect that the speculation has been difficult for the player and he\u2019s been unsettled by it.<\/p>\n

Isak\u2019s agent reportedly felt insulted after Newcastle failed to offer Isak a new contract, having promised to do so in 2024. But the club still do plan to make a new offer in time.<\/p>\n

All the recent speculation led to Eddie Howe<\/a> excluding Isak from Newcastle\u2019s pre-season friendly against Celtic at the weekend, and it remains to be seen whether he\u2019ll be involved when the team face Arsenal on Sunday.<\/p>\n
