\n\tMarvel Studios<\/a> boss Kevin Feige<\/a> is teasing the X-Men<\/a> reboot set to be directed by Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a roundtable last week promoting The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Feige provided an update on the development of the superhero film, which is expected to release after the Multiverse Saga concludes with the release of Avengers: Secret Wars<\/a> in 2027.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s official, Jake Schreier<\/a> is doing X-Men for us, and we\u2019re very, very lucky,\u201d Feige said, according to ComicBook<\/a>. \u201cAnd we\u2019re very, very lucky to have him and very excited to have him. And so we\u2019re beginning. It\u2019s all starting now. The script\u2019s underway.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFeige called Schreier \u201can incredibly smart guy\u201d and \u201ctalented filmmaker,\u201d adding, \u201cWe had a great experience with him on Thunderbolts. And if you saw that movie, what he did with those character interactions, he also has his pulse on, shall we say, a younger demographic. He\u2019s younger than me for sure, but he\u2019s tapped into that in a way that I think was important for Thunderbolts, much more important for X-Men. Because X-Men, as it was in the comics, will be a very youth-oriented, focused and cast movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDeadline exclusively reported in May<\/a> that Schreier was the top choice to take on the X-Men reboot following the success of Thunderbolts.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe studio boss acknowledged that the X-Men characters have had many movies on-screen and \u201ca lot has been done,\u201d but said \u201cthere\u2019s so much more to tap into.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere [are] so many sagas within sagas for X-Men that that\u2019s part of what we\u2019re talking about now \u2014 which saga to grow and build to while doing the most important thing, which is introducing all of these characters and giving them their due in our first film,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Disney and 20th Century Fox merged in 2019, the X-Men characters became available to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some of the actors that were in the Fox films will reprise their roles for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday<\/a> film, set to be released on December 18, 2026.<\/p>\n
