But the sheer scale of Google Search means there are lots of edge cases that the company doesn\u2019t seem to have considered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For instance, this is what you\u2019ll now get if you type the word \u201cdisregard\u201d into Google Search.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"579\" width=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Screenshot-2026-05-22-at-11.45.15-AM.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3125458\"  \/><strong>Image Credits:<\/strong>Screenshot<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Google has been catching some flack on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/iihearttrose\/status\/2057637898862645677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DYpWDE_lJkz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">media<\/a> for this, and it\u2019s easy to see why. As you\u2019ll notice, the Merriam-Webster link is still in there, but you have to scroll past a huge block of empty space. For most users, that single reply is the only thing you\u2019ll see. And crucially, the AI response serves no conceivable value to a user searching the word \u201cdisregard.\u201d It\u2019s just a broken tool.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For context, here is the same search in Bing, which has been less aggressive about its AI summaries.
