TOLLESON, Ariz.<\/strong> – A shooting at a Tolleson house party left a 21-year-old with life-threatening injuries on Friday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n What we know:<\/p>\n Phoenix Police responded to reports of a shooting at a house party near 101st Avenue and Weir Avenue<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>at 10:30 p.m. on May 22.\u00a0<\/p>\n According to witnesses, two groups fired shots at each other as the party was breaking up. A neighbor’s home surveillance video captured people screaming and running from the area.\u00a0<\/p>\n A 21-year-old man was struck by gunfire. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in critical but stable condition.<\/p>\n Local perspective:<\/p>\n One home was struck by at least five bullets, hitting the front porch and a bedroom.<\/p>\n In the 18 years Kelli Kirk has lived in her home, she’s said never once has there been a shooting, until Friday night.<\/p>\n “Minding my own business, going to sleep at night, and just heard the rattling, the gunfire, the crossfire,” Kirk said. “I have never been so happy that my son was not home that night.”<\/p>\n Now, several bullets are in his walls and vents.<\/p>\n “I told him to make sure that he came home tonight, early, don’t be out. It’s graduation time. People are dying. People are shooting. I don’t want him to be that,” she said. “He told me he was safe and right when this happened I texted him and said please don\u2019t come home yet.”<\/p>\n Dig deeper:<\/p>\n Kirk’s cameras show a woman seeking shelter as bullets flew at the home and clouds of dust pop up when they hit the walls.<\/p>\n “You could just hear kids checking on each other. Backyard\u2026we had probably 20 kids jumping the fence, so we had people in the backyard trying to figure out safety,” Kirk said. “You’re just in your house trying to make sure you’re good and not bring any of the chaos that has nothing to do with you in your home.”<\/p>\n She hopes a situation like nthisever happens again.<\/p>\n “It doesn\u2019t make me feel great knowing that the repercussions could be detrimental to my family,” Kirk said. \u00a0<\/p>\n What we don’t know:<\/p>\n \u00a0No suspects are in custody.
